Projects
Projects
are classified into two categories within P G Engineering; those that are a
singular exercise, for example, research and report on an equipment or event etc
and those that require project management.
The
projects requiring management are usually of longer duration than
straightforward research and report.
All
require a deep understanding of customer focus.
Project Examples Since 2005
- Manufacturing
and marketing in Brazil.
Research and report on different ways for a UK OEM to sell products
in Brazil. The Brazilian market is dominated by tax and local
levies and it is highly expensive to import finished goods. This project
discovered a way of producing in Brazil with minimum tax and duty
constraints.
- Micromodule
research with machine specification. Research
and report on micromodule electronics manufacturing for a major equipment
manufacturer in order for a decision to be made on whether or not to build a
new style of machine. Assist
with machine specification.
- Writing
a User Requirement Specification. Research
and report on the functions of traceability for a major equipment
manufacturer and then write the User Requirement Specification to enable a
fully detailed Functional Design Specification to be written so that
traceability can be implemented with the minimum of interruptions.
- Implementing
Traceability. The
implementation of the FDS mentioned above.
- Design
For Manufacture, Design For Test, Design For Environment.
Created and maintained a DFM package for a UK CEM
- Legislation
implementation (RoHS & WEEE). Contract
lecturer on RoHS and WEEE legislation for a UK CEM.
Lectures held on site at customers’ premises.
Contract WEEE implementation specialist for UK OEM
- Process
& Production problem solving. Process
and manufacturing engineering resource as and when required for a UK CEM
- Manufacturing
equipment evaluations. Placement
machine evaluation for a major materials supplier.
Research and report on X-Ray systems for a multinational OEM
- Technical
authoring.
Technical author for a major equipment manufacturer (articles
published in America regularly)
- Training
Workshops. Ran
workshops on DFM and PIHR for Nepcon Malaysia
- Equipment
assessment for suitability for task. Assessed
convection reflow system for cost-effectiveness and marketability.
Assessed automated assembly equipment for electric motor manufacturer
- Trade
body functions.
Involvement
with EU LeadOUT project via Smart Group. Regular lecturer
for Smart Group or other trade group seminars or
conferences
